Anger attacks Monica (age 8)

Jerry and Monique are the parents of daughter Monica. She has fits of anger. She has to be picked up from school regularly, and the whole family suffers from Monica’s outbursts. It goes from bad to worse. Mother finds it tough. She effaces herself, does everything for her middle child, but feels that the other two children fall short. Father feels powerlessness toward his wife and child. We discuss why they themselves think this is happening.

It may be there

Emotions are not expressed in the family. When Monica is angry, this may not be there because her parents find it annoying. It seems like anger is something wrong. Parents then feel a lot of helplessness, also anger, and a lot of sadness. Mother begins to cry: she feels her emotions allowed to be there tonight. She fights it, as she fights all day with her daughter to survive. This, too, is allowed. The entire audience is loving and understanding of these parents and the situation. There is another couple who have the same situation at home with their daughter. They see their own situation. After fifteen minutes, the parents feel relieved, mother lets her tears flow. These are most welcome ❤. Monica tells a story of their parents.

Compliment to parents

A lot has happened. Parents learn that anger is an emotion. That the child feels safe to express her anger. This is a compliment to parents. From now on, anger is allowed to be there and they understand why their daughter still needs it. Once parents process their own emotions, Monica will also become calmer. This is explained in detail during the training sessions.
