Postpartum depression
It was as if she wanted to push her daughter away. 19 years ago a very unpleasant period when she was diagnosed with postpartum depression and anxiety disorders. In answering her question, it became clear that she is living her own Life Blueprint. Patterns repeat themselves. She goes home happy, fulfilled and relieved to share this story with her daughter. Below is the explanation of postpartum depression.
Mirelle really wanted to have children with her husband. She was looking forward to it, extremely happy with her first pregnancy, but 24 hours after giving birth, she no longer wanted her oh-so-desired daughter. It was as if she wanted to push her daughter away. A very unpleasant period during which she was diagnosed with postpartum depression and anxiety disorders, and which, nineteen years later, still saddens her every day. She asks her question during HeartConnection’s training.
Patterns are repeated until processed
Mirelle absolutely does not understand her feelings of rejection toward her newborn baby. We go back to the period surrounding her own conception, pregnancy and childbirth. Her own birth was dramatic, as was her daughter’s delivery. We see this more often: patterns are repeated until they are processed. Dramatic births have a family story to tell. Michelle’s parents were 19 and 17 when she was born. The conception took place during the fair. Her mother did not drink alcohol; her father did. In those days, it was a shame to get pregnant before marriage. Mirelles parents had to get married, in black according to the rules of the Roman Catholic Church. They also had to do penance with the priest. Michelle’s mother had fears about her pregnancy. She was afraid that this boy would abandon her and not marry her. And her father, who suddenly had to get married after one night of fun fair, was afraid of losing his free life. They were afraid of their parents and of the community that condemned them for being pregnant. They could not reverse the act, but how they would have loved to get rid of this pregnancy. A horrible time. After four months of pregnancy, they married and the young couple moved in with her parents. Not an ideal situation. During the HeartConnection Training we will delve deeper into depression and its biological cause.
Connecting-melting-letting go
The same emotions that her parents experienced, Mirelle also experienced after her own delivery. The moment she became a mother herself, her parents’ loads of unprocessed emotions suddenly surfaced: their fears and wanting to push the pregnancy away. This happens more often with postpartum depression: unprocessed dramas during the mother’s own pregnancy suddenly surface after delivery. It seems inexplicable, but if you know the work of HeartConnection, together you will trace the story of these intense emotions. To then connect – fuse – and release them.
New start
For Mirelle, it made so much sense. After nineteen years, she finally got answers to her unexplained anxiety and postpartum depression. She goes home happy, fulfilled and relieved to share this story with her daughter. Mirelle and her daughter can now make a fresh start.
“Dear daughter, my fears, sadness, rejection, the feeling ‘I don’t want you’ were the unprocessed emotions of my parents when they had me. Leave these emotions with me, with grandparents. Now that we have understood this story, we can let it go. This is not mine and not yours. We are now moving forward in happiness. Honey, I love you!”
Find out your story
The wish of HeartConnection Netherlands® is that all midwives, maternity nurses, gynecologists, general practitioners, parents and teachers have this wisdom and knowledge. So that women can be understood after giving birth and they can find out the story behind their postpartum depression. There is nothing wrong with these women, postpartum depression tells the story of an unprocessed drama of (pre)parents that may now be processed. During the HeartConnection Training you will come to the answer yourself.
