Migraines and headaches
From the age of 20, Janny suffers from migraines. Janny asks her question and we work this out during a lecture. What is her story? Below is the explanation of migraine. .... a magical moment because for the first time her migraine stops......
Your illness or complaint tells you a story; once you understand this, the complaint disappears.
Migraine results from an intellectual self-esteem conflict in resolution. Blood vessels in a certain place in your head cramp up during a migraine.
Various conflict themes migraine:
- “I thought I couldn’t do it, and yet I’m doing it now.”
- “I compare myself to others. I’m not as good as them”.
- Relationship with father. “Is my father my father?”
- Feeling of shame toward father. “Terrible that my father is my father. I’m ashamed of him.”
- “My ideas are not good enough.”
- Not wanting to face the truth.
- “Because I have no solution to my problems, I cannot tolerate noise.” In other words, “I don’t want to hear my problems.”
- Fear of being seen.
- Not knowing which direction to take. Difficulty with important life choices that will determine my direction.

Example Janny
During the lecture, Johnny asks her question and live we work out her migraine complaint.
From the age of 20, Johnny has suffered from migraines. During migraines, her muscles cramped, and she experienced pain in her back and head.
What happened around her 20s? During this period, many loved ones passed away, her uncle, grandfather, both grandmothers. During this period, she felt alone, lonely, sad and depressed. She experienced that she had no control over her life. She did what was expected of her and nothing else. But also worries about a partner, will a partner come into my life at all? After age 20, she gained more and more control over her own life and was able to fulfill her heart’s desire: to have a child. Janny becomes a single mother. She chooses for herself.
Since two years, migraines have been increasing. What happened two years ago? Her daughter had to work very hard in school to still stay in Havo. In one subject, she still had to go to Mavo instead of Havo. For Janny, this was an intense period. The same thing had happened in her own childhood. Everyone of her friends went to Mavo/Havo/VWO, except Janny, she went to LHNO. She got high grades and was eventually allowed to attend Havo. This gave her a sense of proof and self-worth.
Last weekend, Janny feels a migraine coming on; she is at her parents’ house. She connects with her migraine. She comes to the conclusion that her parents are (un)consciously taking control again. She decides to go home earlier, she chooses for herself. A magical moment because for the first time her migraines stopped. She understood her migraine story and she knows what to look out for. Staying true to oneself!
Once the story of your complaint is clear, the complaints disappear.
