Merel’s story
Merel (67) has always owned a gym with her husband. They both worked in the gym with great pleasure and passion. They sold the gym and then her husband got sick. Merel cared for her husband for several months. For years she worked hard, first having to let go of her baby (gym) and then her husband. As time goes by, she gets more and more pain in her hips. For a long time, she thinks she can get her hips under control with yoga exercises. But it just can’t seem to make the pain go away. This frustrates her greatly. Her whole life was always under control and now suddenly not. From her self-esteem, it feels like failure. Thus she keeps herself hanging, the complaint actually gets worse. She gets a new boyfriend and opts for hip surgery. After rehabilitation, she no longer has pain in her hips.
