Janet (51): Left ear deaf
When she is a year and a half old, Janet gets an ear infection, followed by three surgeries. As a result, she becomes deaf in her left ear. During the lecture, she sits at the front of the room, “coincidentally” with several others who also have a hearing problem. We go back to a month and a half of pregnancy, when her mother learns she is pregnant. Janet’s mother is then 43 and it is her fifth pregnancy. The doctor strongly advised against this new pregnancy because she is too old and she would have a child with Down syndrome. She is too old to bring a healthy child into the world. This is a huge shock to her mother. Throughout the pregnancy, mother worried that her baby would be born disabled. Janet is a healthy baby, but the doctor’s terror and fear of illness is enduring programming in Janet’s life.
When she is one and a half, Janet releases the doctor’s negative message via an ear infection. This ties in with the moment her mother got the fear through the doctor, when she is a month and a half pregnant with Janet. Why an ear infection belongs in the recovery phase, you’ll hear during the HeartConnection Training.
A year and a half is also eighteen months. So I ask Janet what happened when she was eighteen. She says she then moved from Volendam to Tilburg for her studies. She consciously chose to study in another city, but this also had a huge impact on her personal life. Then I ask her what happened when she was 36. At first, nothing comes to her mind. A little later, she says, “Then I also moved again, and this move also had a huge impact on my life.” She feels relieved now that she has been able to connect her story to her ear. After some time, she hears much better with her left ear.
