Creation of extra blood

Carina received a unique diagnosis a year ago: the thermometer in her bone marrow stopped working. As a result, her body makes not only extra red blood cells, but also extra platelets and a little more white blood cells. What about this biologically? To maintain the heat in her bones, her body starts making extra blood. What is her body telling her with this unique diagnosis?

The symbolism

We look first at the symbolism of this story. Bones represent structure, the skeleton of the house. Inside the bones is bone marrow, the center of your home. Biologically, father provides wood in the house, keeping it nice and warm inside. Blood represents blood ties and symbolically family. What happened in her family? Carina explains that her husband died four years ago. Her father also died young due to cancer, as did all his brothers. The family pattern of all men also repeats itself with her husband. All the women in her family are just getting old.

Cold house

Carina misses her husband. It is literally and figuratively cold in her home. She is trying tremendously hard to get on with life and at the same time she is tired of fighting. She is tired of going through so much. No one should notice anything about Carina, she should be tough about herself and certainly not vulnerable. But deep inside there is so much sadness, anger, vulnerability, shame. Alone, no one should see this.

Carina connects with these emotions, she feels them and releases them. She is tremendously surprised by these painful emotions, which she has never been allowed to feel and were suddenly there.

Pure encounter

Carina is impressed by the meeting in her home. The audience starts clapping for her and she feels everyone’s love. Her vulnerability is more than rewarded. She is allowed to be herself with her warm, tough qualities as well as her vulnerabilities. What a particularly beautiful moment to meet Carina so purely.
